A short note from the Last Fear camp. Our gig at Iduna, Drachten has moved from febuary 26 to april 22. But it’s still on! A fifth band has been confirmed, so the line-up is now comlete. This band is Côte d’Aver.

Furthermore, I am still working hard on our site. I need to update some pages to make them better display in the new layout, and I have to solve some inevitable glitches, odds and ends. Luckily I made some good progress today so I only need to do two more pages and a bit.

What’s this? Did they redo their site again? Yes, we did. Why? Because we can. Our site has got more flexible with this new and fresh look,  because it now has a responsive layout. This means that our site will adapt to every device it is viewed upon and it refits itself  to every screen resolution. In the recent period our site was down a couple of times. The provider where the Last Fear site is stationed is working hard to solve these problems which are causing these outages. We are confident that they will fix the problems and hope our site will have consistent uptime again.

We are working hard in the Last Fear camp… We just had a refreshing and intense rehearsal where we practised some brand new and cool stuff that we are working on since last monday. If this writing  mode in which we are now continues as it has done the last couple of months, it will be like cherry picking for the upcoming cd. Also today we had yet another guy auditioning for lead singer in Last Fear who turned out not to be the right person for the job. So the mic spot is still open and the search continues. Thus if you think that you got what it takes to become the lead singer of Last Fear then we strongely urge you to check out this page.

I am also still working hard on improving and updating our site and other internet activities. This week I installed a brand new system to easily post our gigs. This systems features working links to google maps to plot out a route to the various venues where we have a gig. It also features a separate RSS channel and an iCalendar and Google calendar link to automatically plan in our gigs and immediately receive the lastest updates about them. You will never miss our gigs again.

We have a new gig planned and it’s our first gig for 2012. On febuary 26 we will play at the Iduna in Drachten. This is a really cool venue in the upper northern part of the Netherlands. Bands that already have been confirmed are Fumes Of Decay, Synovectomy and our good friends from Braincasket. Rumour has it that more will be announced. I will post further details about this gig as soon as I have ‘m, so stay tuned.

So yes, we certainly had our fun at our gig at Café/Dorpshuis de Werf in Hauwert. I personally expected that the gig would happen at the back of some small pub (which almost always turn out to be fun little gigs), but much to our delight it took place in a fairly suitable sized hall. We played in front of the stage (at the audience level), but the theater props present at the stage (including a live-sized prison cell) all acted as a nice backdrop for our gig. From here we would like to thank the other bands present that night: Pound and Deathcore. And a special thanks to Tim from Deathcore for arranging this gig. As you maybe already have noticed, we finally have a new gig! On the 1st of October we’ll be supporting the guys from Pound and Deathcore in a deafening Night of Violence. So come on over to Café de Werf to have a beer and get your eardrums ruptured while you are drinking it. The entrance is free, so there is no excuses for not showing up.

Today we started preparations for the upcoming recording sessions of our first full length album. So this can be considered as the very first studio report of which many more will follow.
On the moment of writing Erik and Leon are currently laying down the guide tracks which Bas can use when he’s up for his session. Check the videoclip below and you will also have a first-hand sneakpeek on things yet to come on the album.
